GreenShape provided sustainability consulting services to support achievement of LEED for Existing Buildings certification for the ACE Insurance building located in Bermuda. We conducted an initial sustainability charrette to establish certification goals and strategy and assisted the onsite team in assessing their energy performance, and provided as-needed expertise to the onsite team related to water use calculations and credit interpretation requests. Due to limited potable water resources on the island, nearly all stormwater falling on the roof of this building is collected and reused onsite. The project achieved LEED EB Gold certification in 2011, becoming the first building on the island of Bermuda to be LEED certified.
