GreenShape was hired by the Johns Hopkins University to lead an integrated facilities team comprised of building engineers, energy specialists, management staff, and vendors in the development of a greening strategy for an existing 75,000 SF office building on JHU’s Washington, DC campus. The project pursued certification under the LEED for Existing Buildings rating system. An example of GreenShape’s contributions includes elimination of an unnecessary irrigation system, which not only resulted in estimated saving of 122,000 gallons of water annually, but solved a sub-grade water leakage maintenance problem. The project acheived LEED EBOM Certification in 2011.
